The UwU is essentially a signal buffer that uses an opamp. It has an input impedance of approximately 1 megaohm, an output impedance of 25 ohms, and a signal headroom of approximately 18 volts. It is built to be compact, sturdy and quiet, and is designed to preserve the tone of the instrument being played over a longer chain.

The UwU is a device that gamifies guitar playing, drawing inspiration from the Tamagotchi toys of the 90s. It features an OLED screen that displays a small egg, level, and experience indicators upon its initial power-up, similar to video games. As soon as the device detects an incoming signal, the creature on the screen reacts to it in real-time, accompanied by a set of fun animations. The creature reacts differently based on the signal loudness, making the device more engaging. With every note played, the player earns experience points that accumulate, gradually filling up the progress bar. The longer the instrument is played, the more experience points the player earns, with real-time multiplication bonuses adding to the enjoyment of the game. Once the maximum amount of experience is reached, the device displays a level-up screen and transitions into the next evolution of the creature, featuring a new set of professionally produced pixel art animations. There are a total of 30 different levels to explore. Progress is saved between power cycles using a coin cell battery, reminiscent of old cartridge-based console games. The UwU is a fun device that provides an excellent incentive for young players to practice their instruments.

The UwU features a menu screen, accessible by holding the A and B buttons for 3 seconds.
